Multiple Intelligence and Learning Styles in Child-centered classroom
All
children are unique in individual ways. Recognizing and celebrating
these differences in each child is a fundamental component in
the philosophy of Step by Step program. Understanding how each
child learns, enable teachers to plan variety activities in a
supportive learning environment. Knowledge of the theory of Multiple
Intelligence and learning styles helps teachers to create new
variety of activities and lessons. When giving children opportunities
to learn through their strengths, positive growth in cognitive,
emotional, social and physical areas will appear.
Motivation
The
contents of this seminar provide basic information for motivation
as important process in child’s development. Participants will
discover ways in which teachers can enhance children’s motivation
using proper language, rewarding, positive communication. All
this will stimulate children’s development and growth.
Strategies
that foster reading and writing motivation
All
students can develop literacy skills. Developing readers who read
for both pleasure and information is the basic aim of balanced
reading and writing program. Just as babies learn by “talking”
learning to read and write is accomplished by the mere act of
“reading” and “writing”. Caring teachers, who model, guide, demonstrate
and otherwise instruct students to support these early attempts.
Reading and writing to children, with children and by children
are key features of the balanced reading program.
Psychological
workshops
They
provide practical implementation of methods and techniques for
enhancing child’s development. All this influence child’s imagination,
developing emotions, dealing with stress situations. This content
is particularly important as helps children to establish positive
attitudes in every day communication and life.
Self
esteem, self confidence and self-evaluation
The
workshops designed on topics self esteem, self-confidence and
self-evaluation provide participants ideas, resources and ways
for detecting individual’s abilities, attitudes, creative abilities
with one aim improving individuality and self-esteem.
Emotional
intelligence
The
aim of the seminar is to introduce to the participants the concept
of emotional intelligence and its meaning for people of all ages.
During the seminar the main dimensions of the emotional intelligence
will be elaborated as well as the ways of education that encourage
development of EQ. Participants will have chance to share experiences,
with the aim to help children in developing emotional intelligence,
social skills that will enable children to become content individuals,
capable to solve challenges and problems in life.
Conflict
solving
The
seminar provides varieties of techniques and methods for discovering
conflict situations. Participants will be enabled to deal in conflict
situation on individual and professional level.
Children’s
behavior
The
aim of the seminar is introduce to participants avoiding negative
children’s behavior. Helping children to adapt positive behavior
and positive thinking in every day situations. Besides this the
seminar presents techniques that will enable children to enhance
their self-esteem.
Socio-emotinal
development
The
aim of the seminar is present to participants the need of understanding
and adapting knowledge from the field of socio-emotinal development
of children. It also emphasis the important role of the adult
in this process for the children. The contents of the seminar
once again highlight adult awareness that they can influence and
model children’s socio-emotional development and which qualities
each adult individual need to have with the aim to meet children’s
emotional needs.
Individualization
The
general aim of the seminar is to confirm the importance and meaning
of individualization in the teaching process and to view the necessity
of its implementation in the practical work. During the seminar
the participants will have chance to establish the theoretical
base of individualization and also to find out the explanations
of individualization as an educational approach. The participant
will learn to recognize and accept the individual developmental
differences, needs and interests, realizing the thematic teaching
and the curriculum for children of different ages. The participants
will acquire new observational, evaluation and recording skills
for the children’s growth and development. All this can be use
in the function for thematic teaching activities that will meet
children’s individual needs. Sharing ideas and examples from everyday
practical work the participants will develop skills for efficient
implementation of individual forms of work with children. The
participants will view ways for realization of individualization
through adaptation of daily schedule and the need for rest and
active work for each child, with planning individual activities
and offering opportunities for free choice of materials, and with
planing the work in the small groups, activities centers and selection
of proper way for presentation of activities and collaboration
with each child and etc. All presented content will be in function
to foster and encourage the children’s growth and development
and also in achieving inner potentials that will help the children
to feel content and satisfied.
Hyper
active child
This workshop is designed to help teachers and parents deal with hyperactive
children. The content of the workshops is suited to provide early
childhood professionals with successful techniques for identifying
hyperactive child’s problems. The accent is on detecting different
manifestations of hyperactivity in boys and girls.
Creative
art workshops
The
aim of the seminar is to offer participants chance to discover
the concept of creativity and the importance of the creativity
for the world’s civilization. They will enable themselves to recognize
the different types of creativity for children, to encourage and
support the children in expressing natural creativity in unique
way. During the seminar topics for planning and implementing creative
activities in the art curriculum will be elaborated, integrated
contents of drama play music and dance. The participants will
focus their attention on the process of work with the child in
the art activities and the influence of the environment and conditions
for open ended art expression. They will also discover the criteria
for evaluation of children’s art achievements and commonly accepted
criteria for interpretation of the children’s drawings.
Training for mentors
Workshops
are designed to present adult learning theory. The contents for
the seminar “Training mentors” includes how the concept of multiple
intelligence applies to adult learning. Applied presentation skills
to a presentation to adults. Participants will discover ways of
establishing peer-coaching relationships, as well as giving and
receiving feedback.
Leadership
Enhanced strategies for developing
leadership skills of educational staff in child-centered classrooms.
Participants will get insights for maintaining team performances,
they will acquire new strategies that will empower them to create
conflict productive approaches to group work, and will elaborate keys
for high performances of the team.
Time management
This workshop is designed to
support teachers and assistants in providing quality time with
children in the classroom. The workshop covers issues of child-teacher
interaction, providing equal portions of the day for individual,
group and free time activities. For quality time-management during
the school day teachers must pay attention to classroom arrangement
as well as to involve children in the process of establishing
rules for mutual communication.
